Due to the retirement of the Honorable Michael J. Algeo on June 30, 2014 and the upcoming retirement of the Honorable Eric M. Johnson on October 31, 2014, two (2) vacancies exist on the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. These vacancies are to be filled by appointment of Governor O'Malley.
The name of any attorney living or practicing in Montgomery County, MD who applies for this vacancy will have to appear on a referendum ballot handled through the Bar Association of Montgomery County, MD.
In addition to filing with the Administrative Office of the Courts, you are asked to submit a written resume, as a pdf or an MS Word document, along with a photo (if there is not currently one on file with the Bar Association) to be emailed to Cindy@barmont.org, with a $100 filing fee (if you haven’t applied for a Circuit Court vacancy within the past 2 years) mailed to Sara M. Due to the retirement of the Honorable Michael J. Algeo on June 30, 2014 and the upcoming retirement of the Honorable Eric M. Johnson on October 31, 2014, two (2) vacancies exist on the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. This vacancy is to be filled by appointment of Governor O'Malley.
Any judge or lawyer interested in appointment to these vacancies should complete the personal data questionnaire which is available as a downloadable document on the Judiciary’s website at www.mdcourts.gov. Any applicant who reapplies to a commission with whom they have filed a personal data questionnaire within the past twenty-four months need not file a new questionnaire. The candidate may submit a letter stating that he or she is reapplying and submit any changes that have occurred since the submission of the earlier questionnaire.
